It’s past being a question whether or not the term organic — as it’s applied to consumer products — will be co-opted by large-scale business. A segment of consumer spending increasing by as much as 20% a year over ten years was bound to turn corporate heads. BIG heads.
The arrival of organic products into the marketing mainstream is demonstrated by events such as the “The Business of Organic: Certification, Finance, and Marketing” conference hosted by The Strategic research Institute on October 30 and 31 at the Sheraton Sonoma County in Petaluma, CA.
It’s a conference I’d actually like to attend. Though preferably as a fly-on-the-wall. But being blessed with human form, there’s a need to register like everyone else.
The event registration fee is $1295 until September 18, after which it will be $1495. For anyone wishing to donate the fee: I would provide receipts, pay my own travel and lodging and commit to sharing what I learn via blog posts.
