It’s an important question

If you haven’t already, it’s time to starting thinking about it: what is organic? The Agricultural Marketing Service governs the USDA National Organic Program. This says something about where we are today. By buying organic when we can, and local when possible, we can all have a say in where organics will be tomorrow.

Here’s one definition to start with:

“According to all existing national regulations, organic agriculture is a holistic production management system that avoids use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and genetically modified organisms, minimizes pollution of air, soil and water, and optimizes the health and productivity of interdependent communities of plants, animals and people.”
